Bradford (Park Avenue) are pleased to confirm that winger Paul Walker has signed a one-year contract to remain at the Horsfall Stadium.
Walker, 27, has made 98 appearances and scored 18 goals for the Avenue since joining from Garforth Town in 2012 and has become a popular character with players, management and supporters with his performances. At the end of the 2013/14 season, Walker collected all the individual player awards at the Presentation Evening, winning the Players’ Player of the Year, Supporters Player of the Year and the leading goalscorer trophy.
After extending his stay at the Avenue, Walker admitted he’s delighted:
“I’ve enjoyed my two years here and I’m already looking forward to next season. I think the aim is to push on to try and make the playoffs and I think we can do that if we keep the nucleus of the side and maybe add some new faces.”
John Deacey, the Avenue manager spoke of his delight to secure the signature of Walker:
“People know what I think of Paul Walker. ‘Mr Consistent’ is one of the nicest people in football you’ll ever meet and he can play a bit too. Seriously, it’s great news for Bradford (Park Avenue) that he’s decided to stay here.”
