Bradford (Park Avenue) have moved to sign George Smith from Barnsley before the Football League loan window shuts today.
Smith, 18, joins on a 2 month youth loan deal, taking him up to and including the 27th of January.
The left back, yet to make a senior appearance for the League One side, joins having signed his first professional deal in June this year, 2 months before his 18th birthday. He has been with Barnsley since the age of 11.
Smith described himself as “a very athletic, attacking full back who loves to get forward.”
He said: “I’m really happy to join Avenue on loan. It’s a new challenge for me- needing to get used to league football and winning games.
“Hopefully I can get some games under my belt and get Park Avenue back up the league.”
George hopes to make his debut on Saturday in the FA Trophy Third Qualifying Round match at the Horsfall Stadium.
