With the new season approaching, The Skrill North side Bradford (Park Avenue) are delighted to confirm six new signings.
John Deacey moved quickly to get the signature of the former Avenue captain James Knowles. The central defender left the West Yorkshire club to join FC Halifax Town last season and was part of their promotion winning side to The Skrill Premier. However, Knowles is pleased to return to the Horsfall Stadium:
“I’m really excited to be coming back to Bradford (Park Avenue). It’s a great club and when I was aware I was set to leave FC Halifax Town, there was one place I wanted to go. They have a team that looks really strong and play football the right way and I hope I can add my experience and ability to help the club achieve their goal of another promotion. I hope I can start afresh and hopefully contribute to what I hope is another successful season.”
Also, Jason St Juste has signed for the Avenue after impressing in pre-season. The former FC Halifax Town man has featured at left back for his new team and said he is happy to join The Skrill North club:
“It is my kind of football, but I am learning while I’m here and l’m looking forward to a long season. I had a few options but I wanted to stay local. The lads have had a good pre-season, we have a good side and I think it will be an interesting season for us!”
Meanwhile, John Deacey has added Charlie Clamp to his squad for the new season. The young midfielder signed for the Avenue after appearing in pre-season friendlies, and is hoping to be involved in the first team:
“I’m very pleased and I needed a good pre-season. There is a lot of competition for places here, we have very good players that have played at a good standard.”
The Avenue manager John Deacey has added three more players to the 2013-14 squad.
Two former Bradford City players return to Bradford to wear an Avenue shirt. Both Luke Dean and Danny Forrest have joined the club. Dean has featured in midfield during pre-season, scoring one goal. Meanwhile, Forrest has been playing in a forward role and, also scored one goal for his new side during pre-season.
Meanwhile, Deacey has registered Dermot McMurray as a goalkeeper for the club, and he made a second half appearance in pre-season at Tadcaster Albion.
