Riley and Dempsey Released

Bradford (Park Avenue) would like to confirm that James Riley and Matt Dempsey have been released from the club.

The Avenue manager John Deacey has made the tough decision to part ways with the two defenders, having brought in Liam Needham and Craig Radcliffe on loan.

John Deacey commented on the decision to release James Riley:

‘I would like to personally thank James for all his efforts. Over the past three seasons, he has been superb. He was an integral part of our promotion push, but, unfortunately, it’s one of those situations to release him. I would like to wish him all the best for the future.’

At the same time, Matt Dempsey joined the club in 2012 from Garforth Town, and the Bradford manager was quick to praise the defender:

‘Again, Matt Dempsey was integral in the later part of last season during the club’s promotion, it’s just part of football. Also, I would like to thank him and we will do our best to help both players find a new club.’
