Bradford (Park Avenue) are delighted to announce the signing of Jack Rea.
Rea joins the Avenue after being released by Guiseley AFC at the end of the 2013/14 campaign.
The 22 year old can play in defence and midfield and is the ninth new arrival at the Horsfall Stadium ahead of the new Vanarama Conference North season.
His first appearance in an Avenue shirt was against Witton Albion at the weekend. Rea played the full 90 minutes in the third pre-season victory for the West Yorkshire outfit.
Speaking exclusively to the club’s website, Rea said:
“It was a blow to be released but I’ve been training throughout pre-season and once I had contact with the manager I was really pleased.
We can build on what the club have achieved and hopefully push for a playoff spot.
I’ve played against Bradford (Park Avenue) before and they’ve always looked good going forward and that’s where hopefully I can play a part. I’m more defensively-minded so I can try and help keep the goals against us down while the lads up front continue to score goals.”
Also, the club can confirm right-back Grant Black has put pen-to-paper on a new deal.
The defender joined the Avenue from Buxton during the 2013/14 season and made 17 appearances for the club.
The experienced attacking full-back started his career at hometown club Barnsley before moving on to play for Harrogate Town, Stalybridge Celtic and Buxton where he made 299 appearances over six and half years with the Derbyshire club.
After agreeing to stay, Black said:
“I’m delighted to stay here. I’m really looking forward to this season and can’t wait to get started. We are looking to improve on our final position of tenth last season.”
