Influential Avenue midfielder Jack Rea has today left the club to join AFC Telford United.
The Welshman joins the Vanarama Conference strugglers following a number of fine performances for Bradford this season.
The 22 year old leaves having made 16 appearances this season, 15 of those from the start. His last notable contribution was delivering the free kick which was hooked home by Chib Chilaka in the defeat at Chorley on Boxing Day.
Avenue’s Martin Drury said “We are very disappointed to lose Jack. He is a very good footballer and great lad off the field.
“His attitude has been superb and he has performed consistently well for us over the last couple of months.
“Unfortunately the opportunity to play at a higher level and at a club closer to home for him made it too difficult for us to keep him at Bradford, despite our efforts.
“Jack goes with our best wishes and I’m sure the Bradford supporters will also wish him well with his future.”
Rea joined Avenue before the start of the season after being released by West Yorkshire rivals Guiseley.
He had progressed through the ranks at Chester City- scoring the club’s last ever goal before it was wound up.
He joined Stalybridge Celtic before moving to Guiseley, who paid a fee for the midfielder after he won player of the season at Bower Fold.
The club would like to echo the thoughts of Martin by thanking Jack for all his efforts during his time at the Horsfall, and we wish him all the best for the future.
