Ryan Qualter scored his first goal for the Avenue in their 3-2 victory against
Hyde FC, and the centre-back spoke to the club’s official website.
The defender admitted it’s been a positive start to the season:
“Our performance against Hyde FC wasn’t the best but we’ve got ten points from 15 which is a good start, but we need to perform better.”
The 23 year old recognises the concern of conceding goals, but says it requires a collective effort:
“We have to tighten it up because we’re scoring plenty of goals, but, it’s not just the defence, it’s a team effort. We’ll work hard to improve as the season goes on.”
Also, Qualter netted his first goal for the Avenue, and is hoping it might silence the manager:
“I’ve been getting some stick from the manager, so it’s nice to get on the end of it and score!”
