Bradford (Park Avenue) are delighted to announce the signing of defender Billy Priestley from Ramsbottom United.
The 25 year old joins the Avenue on a one-year contract with an option of a further year.
Priestley started his career at Accrington Stanley before moving to Colne FC at the age of 18. The centre-back moved to Barnoldswick Town, and then, last year, Priestley made the switch to Ramsbottom United.
After enjoying a successful spell, including promotion to the Evostik Northern Premier Division, Priestley has decided to leave the Rams for an opportunity to play in the Vanarama Conference North.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the defender is excited to make the move:
“I want to test myself and play as high as I can. It was an opportunity I couldn’t refuse.
I’m really looking forward to playing for Bradford (Park Avenue) and I’m hoping I can make the squad to help improve the number of goals we’ve conceded and look to keep clean sheets.
I think supporters can expect a typical centre-back, with my strengths being good in the air and strong in defence.
Also, I would like to thank Ramsbottom United because they are a great club. The management, players and supporters were brilliant, they are like a family.”
