Pre-Season Friendly – Sheffield United U21s

On Saturday, Bradford (Park Avenue) host Sheffield United U21s at the Horsfall Stadium, with kick-off at 3.00pm.

So far, the Avenue have played four pre-season friendlies. In the first game, John Deacey’s side lost 2-0 to Paul Dickov’s Doncaster Rovers before claiming a 3-0 victory against Tadcaster Albion during midweek.

Then, Bradford welcomed Hartlepool United, who named former player Michael Duckworth as their captain. But, the Avenue fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat as substitute Jonathan Franks scored the only goal of the game during the second half.

Most recently, the Conference North outfit held off a spirited fightback by Brighouse Town. After taking a 3-0 goal inside the opening 20 minutes with a brace from Chib Chilaka and a rebound from Richard Marshall, the Avenue conceded two goals before half time. However, Bradford recorded their second pre-season friendly victory as they prepare for the 2014/15 campaign which begins at Gloucester City on Saturday 9 August.
