Bradford (Park Avenue) would like to announce they will play Bradford City in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday 29 July at the Horsfall Stadium. (Kick-off: 7.30pm)
This will be the final chance for some Avenue fans to see their new squad at home before the first game of the Conference North season at Gloucester City on Saturday 9 August.
At short notice, both teams have arranged to play each other before the beginning of the 2014/15 season, with the winner collecting the Tom Banks Memorial Trophy.
It is expected Phil Parkinson will field a strong squad including a number of trialists for the fixture at the Horsfall Stadium.
The Avenue have featured in five pre-season friendlies, winning twice and losing on three occasions. So far, John Deacey’s men have beaten non-league sides Tadcaster Albion and Brighouse Town. But, the new-look Avenue have narrowly lost to Doncaster Rovers, Hartlepool United and Sheffield United Under-21s. Following the pre-season friendly against their local neighbours, the Avenue will travel to face Evostik Northern Premier Division side Witton Albion on Saturday 2 August (Kick-off: 3.00pm).
Bradford City prepare for their second successive season in Sky Bet League One after finishing a respectable 11th position. Already, Phil Parkinson’s side have been involved in plenty of pre-season friendlies including a 3-0 victory against Guiseley AFC and a tour to Ireland. The Bantams’ first game of the new campaign will see the visit of Coventry City to the Coral Windows Stadium on Saturday 9 August.
For travelling Bantams fans, they will be able to watch some familiar faces in the green and white of Bradford (Park Avenue). This season, Chib Chilaka, Joe Colbeck and Scott Kerr are part of the Avenue squad looking to improve on last season’s 10th place finish.
Below are the admission prices for the game:

We look forward to welcoming Bradford City to the Horsfall Stadium.
