John Deacey gave a debut to Liam Needham in the win against Boston United, and the left footed player from FC Halifax Town spoke to the club’s official website.
The midfielder limped off in the second half with an injury, and, he had mixed emotions of the game:
‘I wouldn’t like to get injured really, I mean I am happy, I was enjoying it before I came off, but, I’m impressed with the boys getting a win against a difficult team. Overall, it was a good day.’
Needham, who turns 27 next month, was withdrawn by the Avenue manager, but, he is not concerned with the injury:
‘I sprinted into someone, and I must have got a knee in my thigh and a stud in my back, I came out in pieces! It’s not a nice feeling, but, it’s just a dead leg. I’ll be fine for next week and hopefully I will get 90 minutes under my belt.’
However, the left sided player has fitted in well at the Horsfall Stadium:
‘The lads are brilliant, they have made me feel welcome and there is good banter in dressing rooms. I can’t fault them, I’m really happy, and I hope to do really well here.’
