Match Preview: Tamworth (H)

On Saturday Bradford (Park Avenue) welcome Tamworth to the Horsfall Stadium in the Vanarama Conference North.

The game is Avenue’s first for a fortnight after last Saturday’s match against North Ferriby United was postponed due the Villagers involvement in the FA Cup.

Avenue’s last fixture saw them achieve a creditable 1-1 draw away at Hednesford Town. Marvin Robinson had given the visitors the lead early on in the game but defender Billy Priestley gained a point for Avenue with a second half header.

Avenue are likely to be without Nathan Hotte (hamstring), Danny Frost (foot) and Nathan Turner (knee) for tomorrow’s game as they continue to recover from injury. Manager John Deacey has been boosted by the return of his son Jordan who arrives at the club for his second spell on a 28 day loan from Vanarama Conference side AFC Telford United.

Recently appointed Tamworth manager Andy Morrell will be looking to improve the Lamb’s league form. Their only win of the season so far arrived back in August when they beat Gloucester City 2-1 at the Lamb Ground so they will be looking to secure some much need points when they visit the Horsfall.

Last Saturday Tamworth were in FA Cup action and they took Southport to a replay following a 1-1 draw at home. They went on to lose the replay 4-2 on penalties after the game finished 1-1 at full time. Despite the disappointment the club have been boosted by the arrival of former England C striker Reece Styche who has joined the club on a months loan from Kidderminster Harriers.
