Match Preview: Harrogate Town

Bradford (Park Avenue) and Harrogate Town will meet again in a FA Carlsberg Trophy replay at the Horsfall Stadium. (Kick-off: 7.45pm)

Neither side could find a winner in Saturday’s clash at the CNG Stadium where the score finished 1-1. A first half header from former Avenue striker Chris Hall put Town into the lead before Nicky Boshell equalised for the Avenue.

Meanwhile, in November, the two teams met at the Horsfall Stadium in the West Riding County Cup. Simon Weaver’s men knocked out the Avenue with a late Craig Nelthorpe goal to win 1-0.

After the draw against Town, the Avenue manager John Deacey was pleased with his team on Saturday:

“It was a decent performance against a very very good Harrogate Town side. We showed great character, and the lads who came in were superb. The whole side was excellent and did Bradford (Park Avenue) proud.”

Also, Chib Chilaka spoke after the first tie:

“We believe we can have a good run in this cup so let’s do our best and give the fans something to cheer about and hopefully go as far as we can.”
