Match Preview: Harrogate Town

On Saturday, Bradford (Park Avenue) make the short journey to face Harrogate Town in the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Carlsberg Trophy. (Kick-off: 3.00pm)

After an impressive thirteen match unbeaten run earlier in the season, Avenue’s form has dipped in recent weeks losing four out of their last five matches. Within this period, John Deacey’s men fell to a 1-0 home defeat to their opponents in the West Riding County Cup, as a late goal from Craig Nelthorpe saw Town progress to the next round.

Last year in the FA Carlsberg Trophy, the Avenue were knocked out by Evostik Northern Premier Division outfit Stafford Rangers, suffering a 3-1 defeat at Marston Road.

Ahead of the game at the CNG Stadium, Deacey is hoping to see an improvement from the defeat to Altrincham in The Skrill North:

“We’ve got to take the positives out of the game and take them forward to Harrogate Town on Saturday. Hopefully we can build on that. I’m looking forward to the game. It will be competitive.”

The Avenue captain Nathan Hotte hopes his side can get back to winning ways:

‘I’m looking forward to the game, and hopefully we can get on a winning run again.’
