Match Preview: Gainsborough Trinity

Depending on the weather conditions, Bradford (Park Avenue) will make the trip to face promotion chasing Gainsborough Trinity at the Northolme on Saturday. (Kick off: 3.00pm)

Keep watching the official website for any news regarding the fixture.

The home side were due to face either Barrow or Gateshead this weekend in the FA Trophy, but, following their postponement, the two clubs agreed to try and reschedule the league fixture. Steve Housham’s men are currently in the playoffs, recording some impressive victories before the New Year. Notably, the Blues defeated FC Halifax Town, Altrincham and Colwyn Bay in December, whilst, also, picking up a vital win at the Horsfall Stadium against the Avenue. Meanwhile, the hosts will be boosted for the game on Saturday after securing the signing of striker Mark Jones from Boston United.

The visitors make the short trip without a league win in seven matches. The run started with a defeat to Worcester City, and since then, have only managed to record a draw against league leaders Chester FC at the Horsfall Stadium. Nonetheless, John Deacey will have several key players pushing for a starting place, because, Richard Marshall and Nathan Hotte return from suspension. Also, left back Martin Drury is nearing full fitness following a knee operation before the New Year.
