Match Preview: FC Halifax Town

John Deacey’s men make the short trip to face playoff contenders FC Halifax Town at the Shay Stadium on Monday. (Kick off: 3.00pm)

The home side currently sit in fourth position, having played 30 games, the fewest in the Blue Square Bet North. The Shaymen’s recent form has been impressive with only one defeat from their previous 14 league fixtures. Apart from a narrow loss to Harrogate Town, the hosts have recorded victories against teams such as Gloucester City, Solihull Moors and most recently Workington on Saturday. Ahead of a busy schedule, FC Halifax Town manager Neil Aspin made several signings during midweek, including the Avenue’s former captain James Knowles.

The away side will be looking to extend their six match unbeaten run. In March, the Avenue accumulated ten points from a possible 12, following a draw against Gainsborough Trinity at the Northolme. Despite their weekend postponement against Harrogate Town, the Avenue’s recent good form has seen them occupy eighth position in the league. This season, Bradford welcomed their opponents to the Horsfall Stadium, and both sides could not be separated ending in a entertaining 1-1 draw. For the game on Monday, John Deacey will be without Jamie Price due to suspension.
