On Wednesday, Bradford (Park Avenue) welcome Doncaster Rovers to the Horsfall Stadium for the first pre-season friendly of the 2014/15 season. (Kick-off: 7.45pm)
Since the end of last season, it has been a busy period for the club.
The board announced season ticket prices, which included the club offering FREE season tickets for students (on production of valid ID – NUS card) and Under 16s. Meanwhile, there was an Early Bird opportunity, which was extended by an extra week due to a good response.
Also, nine players have confirmed they will be staying for the forthcoming season including Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the Year Paul Walker and captain Nathan Hotte. Also, manager John Deacey has been active in the transfer market, signing four new players. So far, Bradley Barraclough, Paddy Miller, Scott Kerr and Nathan Turner have joined to bolster the Avenue squad.
The players returned to pre-season training at the end of June, and prepare for the 2014/15 season with six pre-season friendlies, starting this week against Paul Dickov’s Doncaster Rovers.
The Avenue and Rovers will meet each other for the third time since 2012. After a 3-3 draw in a pre-season friendly, both teams were drawn against each other in the FA Cup with Budweiser First Round Proper. On a memorable day for the club, the Avenue fell to a 3-1 defeat, despite reducing Rovers’ lead with a spectacular strike from midfielder Richard Marshall.
This season, Paul Dickov’s side will be looking to return to the Championship after suffering relegation, starting at the Horsfall Stadium.
Below are the admission prices for the game:
Adults – £10
Concessions (over 60s) – £5
Students (on production of NUS card) – £5
Under 16s – FREE
Armed forces personnel (on production of warrant card) – FREE
The official matchday magazine will be on sale for £1.50
We look forward to welcoming Doncaster Rovers to the Horsfall Stadium.
