The Avenue midfielder Richard Marshall spoke to the official website following the victory at Droylsden:
The popular Marshall was delighted with the three points:
‘It was a great result for us. It’s nice for us to score goals instead of hitting the post or the bar. Overall, it was a great team performance.’
Personally, the Bradford number four scored two goals, but, he felt he could have taken away the match ball home:
‘I’m disappointed I didn’t get an hat trick, but we dropped deeper in the second half!’
Following three consecutive victories, Marshall admitted he is looking forward to the rest of the season, including a home game against Workington on Monday:
‘I knew we could get in the top eight with the players we have. I prefer to play Saturday and Monday, because I still don’t feel as sharp before the break we had. It’s difficult if you did that every week because you can get tired!
