Knowles: It Was a Battling Performance'

After the draw at the CNG Stadium, Bradford (Park Avenue) defender James Knowles spoke to the club’s official website:

The current captain admitted it was difficult, but remained positive on the Avenue’s start to the season:

‘We hung on in the end. We have conceded from another set piece, but, we haven’t conceded from open play yet, and we are still unbeaten. We played some good football in the first half, but, in the second half, we didn’t click. It was a battling performance.’

Having played at this level before, Knowles has highlighted the importance of not losing:

If we are to do anything in this league, we have to pick points up. We have four points from two games, and also, a hard game on Monday.

Also, the defender praised Richard Marshall for his wonderful 35 yard strike:

‘He has one of the best strikes I’ve seen in all my career. In the warm up, we tell him, all the time, to shoot, he has even broke goalkeeper’s fingers, but, now, he is getting in the right position.’

Finally, ahead of the game against FC Halifax Town on Monday, the Bradford defender said:

‘We have come up and nobody to be scared of.’
