Bradford (Park Avenue) are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Scott Kerr.
The 32 year old joins the club after being released from Grimsby Town at the end of last season.
Previously, Kerr has made over 300 appearances in the Football League and Football Conference, including spells at Bradford City, Hull City, Scarborough FC, Lincoln City and York City.
Kerr is the third arrival at the Horsfall Stadium, joining new recruits Bradley Barraclough and Paddy Miller in the Avenue dressing room. Also, the club have retained eight players so far, including last season’s leading goalscorer and Player of the Year Paul Walker and captain Nathan Hotte.
Speaking exclusively to the official website, Kerr is looking forward to pulling on the Bradford (Park Avenue) shirt:
“Despite having interest from other clubs, this move seemed to be right for me. Since being released by Grimsby Town at the end of the season, it’s been a difficult time to try and find a new club. After speaking with the board and the management team, they sold it to me. I’m excited by the way they play football which suits my game. I still believe that I’m one of the best central midfielders in the Football Conference and hopefully my experience will help some of the younger players here. I’ve joined the club to be successful and the minimum has to be pushing for a playoff spot.”
His new manager John Deacey is excited to have Kerr in his squad for the 2014/15 season:
“Scott has real quality. He is a proven winner and will bring great experience which will hopefully help the development of the squad. I want to thank the board who have given me fantastic support to sign Scott.”
To watch Scott in action for the Avenue, don’t forget season tickets are on sale, and the Early Bird deadline is Saturday 28 June. If you’re under 16 or a student (on production of valid ID), you can get a season ticket for FREE.
