Hume: It Was Very Pleasing

Bradford (Park Avenue) booked their place into the draw for the FA Cup with Budweiser Third Qualifying Round, defeating Curzon Ashton on Saturday.

After the victory, the Avenue assistant manager Mark Hume faced the media, but, had mixed emotions following the win:

‘It was very pleasing, there are still things to sort out at the back and the passing was off today. It was good to get back to a win and get the three defeats out of the way, but, I’m disappointed with no clean sheet.’

Hume, who was taking instructions from John Deacey in the dugout throughout the game, praised the efforts of key individuals:

‘(Alex) Davidson was frightening. He was very sharp, he has looked after himself whilst being injured. Also, Paul Walker was excellent, I don’t think he gave the ball away. Craig (Radcliffe) has fitted in well, and he will give cover on our left side. We have the balance now.’

After victory, Bradford enter the next round, and Hume is looking forward to the draw:

‘We would like a home tie, or, play on a pitch like that, but, we will take whoever we get!’
