Hume Disappointed With Defeat

Following the 4-1 defeat to Stockport County, Bradford (Park Avenue) assistant manager Mark Hume spoke of his disappointment:

“The result was a disaster, and the performance doesn’t get any better. We were lucky to go in 2-1 at half time. Defensively, every mistake we are getting punished and attacking wise we are not taking some of our chances.”

Meanwhile, Hume said he could take some responsibility for the loss:

“I can take it on the chin, maybe the system I went with was not the best. We changed it to four at the back and a familiar style of play but that didn’t work. Maybe I’m being harsh on myself.”

However, the assistant manager is hoping for a response from his side ahead of the trip to face North Ferriby United on Saturday:

“My eyes don’t deceive me and the players are not playing well enough as a team. We are not doing what we should be doing and what John (Deacey) and myself expect. We cannot feel sorry for ourselves, we have got into this position so we have to get ourselves out of it. There are two games left, if we get two positive results then we can have a better Christmas than last year!”
