Despite losing his starting place, Chris Howarth came off the bench to score a late equaliser and leave The Autotech Stadium with one point.
After his introduction, Howarth caused problems for Solihull Moors and was rewarded with a goal, converting James Knowles’ cross into the bottom corner. The Avenue player spoke to the official website.
The winger was pleased to get a positive result:
“We got ourselves back into the game and we continue on our unbeaten run.”
Despite appearing as a late substitute, Howarth praised the side for their comeback:
“We changed the formation and brought some attacking players on and it worked for us. We put some good balls in and grabbed a goal at the end!”
Next Saturday, the Avenue face Penrith AFC in the FA Cup with Budweiser Third Round Qualifying and Howarth is expecting a difficult tie:
“We can’t take them lightly, we have to go out like we do every game, be professional and hopefully get the result.”
