Following the 4-1 victory at Histon FC, the Avenue’s Nathan Hotte spoke to Press Officer Lewis Sale.
Despite being promoted and sitting fourth in the Blue Square Bet North, Hotte is still hoping for improvement:
‘It’s not a bad start, but, we can still improve. I didn’t think we played well today to be honest, apart from the opening 20 minutes. It’s another three points and it keeps us up there.’
After scoring three quick fire goals, the centre back admitted his side struggled in the second half:
‘It is difficult when you score early goals, but, as soon as you let a team back into the game, your on the back foot. We made it harder than it needed to be.’
Despite not playing in his favoured midfield role, the Supporters, Players’, and Manager’s Player of the Year is hoping his side can cement their place in the playoffs:
‘I don’t mind doing a job for the team. Hopefully it will be another three points on Monday, we don’t tend to lose many on Monday nights. I don’t think many teams like coming up to the Horsfall on a Monday night!’
