The Avenue striker Danny Holland scored a late winner for his side to defeat his old club Harrogate Town, and he spoke to the official website.
The experienced striker is delighted his side have continued their good form:
‘We went into the weekend hoping to go on a decent run, which we have. We have picked up maximum points from two tough games.’
Recently, Holland has struggled to cement a starting spot and admits he has been frustrated but recognises his role at the club:
‘I don’t like sitting about no player should be. It’s the manager’s choice, you don’t argue with it, if you didn’t get mad you have to ask something about yourself. My job is to score goals and I’m glad to help the team. I don’t care who scores as long as we win. It’s about time we got gritty and win like that!’
Finally, the former Harrogate Town man believes the squad at the Avenue is crucial to their recent success:
‘We might rotate it because players will get tired playing on difficult pitches. We don’t have numbers but we have a good squad here and players who are sitting on the bench who deserve to play. It doesn’t matter if we change it, we will be just as strong.
