After the victory at Workington AFC, Danny Holland spoke to Avenue’s Press Officer Lewis Sale.
Bradford’s number nine admitted his fellow team mates approached the second half with a better attitude to earn the three points:
‘The first half we gave the ball away too much. But, I think it helped getting the early goals (in the second half). Usually, when we go a goal up, we sit back, but, we are learning because today we pushed forward to score more goals.’
The 29 year old scored one of Avenue’s six goals, and joked about his contribution to the win:
‘I was running about! At one point, I ran past Alex (Davidson) and panicked, saying stay here! Seriously, it’s nice to play a game and be comfortable in the last ten minutes. The position we are in, is because of the lads putting a good shift in. John (Deacey) and Humey (Mark Hume) have got the players in who either know each other or work well together.’
