Martin Drury has asked the following message is relayed to the fans.
‘I’m grateful for the opportunity and for the faith the club has shown in me. I have been looking at the coaching side of football for some time but I will admit it has come a couple of years before I expected. I’m under no illusions that I will come in and we will become a great side over night but what I will guarantee is that I will get our players in the physical and mental condition that is required to compete at this level. Between myself, John and Jamie we will be working hard day in day out to improve them as individuals and as a group.
People may question my experience in coaching due to my age, which I fully understand, but I spent 12 years playing at various professional clubs and the last 6 or 7 in the higher leagues of semi professional football. I believe in the knowledge I have acquired and in my philosophy of how football should be played, and, I am excited and very self motivated to learn more and more along the way, whilst completing the nessessary coaching and management qualifications through the PFA.
It’s a good bunch of players at Bradford that I believe in and, with 1 or 2 additions, I think we will become more competitive as the season goes on.
I ask that the faithful avenue fans continue to show there support as they have done for the last 5 years that I’ve been at the club.
I look forward to the hard work ahead and I am excited for the future. ‘
