Dream Debut for Gardner

Introduced as a substitute after 83 minutes, and scoring your first goal with your first touch of the ball. That’s what happened to Ross Gardner who joined the club earlier in the week and the midfielder spoke to the official website.

The young midfielder was happy with his first appearance in the green and white:

“It (the ball) couldn’t have fallen at a better place for me! It’s a great start and hopefully there’s more to come. I’m easing into it, but it’s good to be involved with the lads and even better getting the goal.”

What can Avenue fans expect from Gardner? The midfielder said:

“Hopefully I can bring creativity and get a few goals is my main aim for the rest of the season.”

After the 6-1 victory against Worcester City, Gardner was delighted with the result:

“It’s a really good result and to score six goals is good at any level.”

His manager John Deacey believes Gardner can play an important role within the squad:

“I think he is a young kid who needs to work on a little bit of his fitness and he can develop a little bit more but he can be an asset. He can play out wide right, wide left, midfield, he can play various positions and hopefully he will enjoy it at Bradford (Park Avenue). He got off to a great start and he finished his goal well!”
