Deacey: 'We Were Too Good'

Following the 1-6 thrashing at Workington, the Avenue manager John Deacey spoke to Press Officer Lewis Sale.

The Bradford manager was extremely proud of his players:

‘It was superb. In the first half we were sloppy and I had a word. But, in the second half we were too good. We worked as a team instead of individuals. I don’t have enough accolades for the second half. Jordan (Deacey) was awesome, Scooby’s (Richard Marshall) strike was out of this world, he has been so consistent this year. I have asked (Nathan) Hotte to do a job, and what a job he is doing, he’s been tremendous. Also Danny Holland played like we know he can, and Tom Greaves came on and scored again.’

The travelling supporters watched their Avenue players score five unanswered goals, and Deacey had nothing but praise for the squad:

‘The second half display was the best of the season. We had a job to get to fourth and we have. For a club running on 15-16 players, it is superb. Despite trying to get players into the club, the lads are answering me by not wanting to leave and play like that.’
