Deacey: 'We Are Still Battling'

Following the 1-0 victory against Harrogate Town, John Deacey spoke to the official website.

The Avenue manager praised his opponents, but was pleased to grab three points:

‘Harrogate Town deserved something out of the game. In the first half, they played better than us and they were quicker to the ball. But, in the second half we were the better side and I’m glad to win 1-0.’

Also, Deacey will be keen to check the fitness of several of his players who have suffered with injuries:

‘Ahead of Saturday, we will keep an eye on Jordan and also Martin Drury who have knee injuries.’

However, the Bradford boss was delighted with the victory against the playoff contenders which extended their unbeaten run to eight matches:

‘It was tight but it was good to get one over them. They’ve bought players I wanted during the season, but we are still battling and we keep going on. You can’t get much better form than us with seven wins and one draw from eight games, so I’m pleased!’
