Deacey: 'They Have Been Great'

After the 4-0 victory against Hinckley United, John Deacey spoke to Press Officer Lewis Sale.

The Avenue manager was pleased with the result, but, is worried about the state of his squad:

‘Three points is three points. In the second half we weren’t very good, we lost two of our midfielders and, lost our shape. We have concerns over some of the players. Jordan (Deacey) is not lasting the full game with his ankle, Scooby (Richard Marshall) has a problem with his ankle too. (Nathan) Hotte is carrying a shin injury, and Tim Deasy has personal things going on, so we have a squad down to the bare bones.

Deacey stressed the need to recruit new faces into his squad:

‘I have to bring players in, and I need some help from the board. I need a centre half and a striker for Saturday.’

Nonetheless, the Bradford boss remains positive about the way the club has progressed since promotion:

‘Overall, it is great. We have 25 points and if anybody would have asked me at the start of the season, you would take it. They have been great because we have a small squad, and it will do me!’
