Deacey: 'The Same Old Story'

Following their 3-1 defeat at Solihull Moors, John Deacey spoke to Press Officer Lewis Sale.

The Avenue boss believed the performance did not deserve the loss on Saturday:

‘We were superb. It’s the same old story and it’s become frustrating. We should have won that game three times over. We dominated the whole of the game. The substitutions we made were excellent, two were tactical and one was enforced as Jordan has a problem with his ankle. But, Tom Greaves and Danny Holland did well when they came on. We did enough to win that game.’

However, Bradford have a quick turnaround, as they face Hinckley United at the Horsfall Stadium on Monday evening:

‘We will get this defeat out of our system.’

Also, Deacey admitted the need to improve his squad, with recent addition Simon Garner impressing the manager:

‘Today has shown we need a centre half and a striker. Simon (Garner) did well. He ran out of legs in the second half, and that is why he came off, but he did a good job.’
