Deacey Praise For Avenue

Following the 2-1 victory against Guiseley AFC, Bradford (Park Avenue) manager John Deacey was delighted with his side:

“The result was excellent and the performance was a lot better than the last time we came here before and won 2-0. It was a solid performance and I thought we deserved it, it’s a hard place to come. I don’t like picking out people but I thought Paul Walker was excellent, everything he did was superb, but the endeavour from the team was excellent.”

However, Deacey praised the home side:

“They tried to impress their new manager (Mark Bower) but it’s not going for them at the moment. I’m sure it will because he has the right attitude and he’s playing the right football.”

For the previous two seasons, the Avenue have reached the First Round, and Deacey admits it is important for the club:

“For the club itself it is everything and wins in the FA Cup (with Budweiser) always help and we can maybe add to our squad.”

Meanwhile the Avenue manager gave his thoughts on the next game for his side, as they travel to face Solihull Moors in The Skrill North:

It will be a tough encounter on their home soil. We can have a rest because we are carrying some knocks. We might be having a friendly in midweek to give some of our fringe players and those returning some football.”
