Deacey Praises Avenue Resilience

Following the 2-1 victory against Harrogate Town, Bradford (Park Avenue) manager John Deacey admitted it was a tough game for his side:

“Harrogate Town had a game plan and they didn’t allow us to play on the floor. It wasn’t the greatest game for the spectators but maybe Harrogate Town deserved a better result with the pressure they put on us in the second half. But, we battled hard and were resilient. I thought Ryan Qualter, who made a mistake at Gloucester City, was superb and Nathan Hotte backed him up well. With the firepower they had, I’m pleased we restricted them to only one goal.”

After the victory, the Avenue temporarily sit top of the Vanarama Conference North, but Deacey admits there is a long way to go yet:

“It’s early days. We need to play better if we want to stay top of the league, but it was a good performance from us.”
