Deacey: 'It Was Difficult'

Following the 3-1 defeat to Guiseley AFC, the Avenue manager John Deacey spoke to Press Officer Lewis Sale.

The Bradford boss was left frustrated with another loss:

‘We lost Tom Corner at half time, and it was a massive blow because he was excellent in the first half. His all round play was causing so many problems for their defence. He had to come off with a hamstring problem. Then, we have conceded two goals from two free kicks, but, that’s football.’

However, Deacey was quick to point out the challenges his side faced prior to kick off:

‘I thought we played well, but, let’s be realistic, we had James Knowles, Nathan Hotte, Jordan Deacey, Matty James and Richard Marshall suspended as well as Martin Drury and our goalkeeper Tim Deasy injured. The lads who came in did excellent, especially Ross Daly who was brilliant in the middle for us. It was difficult, I was having to fit players in places they are not used to.’
