Deacey: ‘I Can’t Wait!’

After the defeat to Whitby Town in the final pre-season friendly, Bradford (Park Avenue) manager John Deacey spoke to and remained upbeat:

‘I thought we were slack, we started off slowly, and we weren’t at the races today. There were poor performances by a lot of people. But, we have had a good pre-season and sometimes you need those kind of games.’

With the kick off delayed due to traffic problems, some of the players arrived late, but, the manager made it clear his thoughts on the defeat:

‘There was a bit of disruption in the side, so I’m not reading anything into it. You can use these games as an example, it was a good lesson in football.’

The new season starts next Saturday, and Deacey admitted he is excited:

‘Of course I am, I can’t wait!’
