Following the 2-3 victory against Gloucester City, the Avenue manager John Deacey spoke to the official website.
Despite the win, Deacey admitted the performance was not perfect:
“It was close but we were our own downfall. In the first half we controlled it, the last ten minutes they got back into it. Again, in the second half we controlled it, we were sloppy but we have got three points.”
However, the Avenue boss was delighted with some individual performances:
“There were some outstanding performances out there. Jordan (Deacey) plucked the ball out of the air and it was a great finish. (Nathan) Hotte worked hard, (Jamie) Pricey did well and it was a good debut from Dan (Glover). (Adam) Clayton was absolutely outstanding and (John) Lamby didn’t have many saves to make.”
After recording two consecutive victories in The Skrill North, Deacey remains optimistic:
“We are moving in right direction and we have to be positive.”
