Following the 1-0 defeat to Hartlepool United, John Deacey is content with how pre-season is going at Bradford (Park Avenue).
The Avenue boss said his side did well against full-time opposition:
“It’s a fine margin (conceding the only goal), but overall it was a good workout. In the first half, we were superb and I thought we did well in the second half too. Maybe we tired a little bit, we had three or four players who played the full game and we couldn’t swap them with the number of players we have available.”
With the season only four weeks away, Deacey notices there is still room for improvement:
“It’s pre-season and you have to look at it like that. It’s a working progress, but so far we’ve done very well.”
