Deacey Content With Point

Following the 0-0 stalemate between Bradford (Park Avenue) and Harrogate Town, John Deacey felt the scoreline reflected the game.

The Avenue manager commented:

“It was a fair result. I thought both sides both had their best chances in injury time. We had one, Beesley whacked over the bar, and then they had a gilt-edged chance, and that really summed the game up. It was competitive, I don’t think any side deserved to win it.”

For the game, Deacey admitted he changed the tactics of his team to cope with Town:

“They were good performances, (Jamie) Pricey was excellent and the two up front worked hard. We changed the system by putting three at the back and we packed the midfield and it seemed to work for us.”

Also, the Avenue boss praised his opponents and believes they could push for promotion:

“Simon’s (Weaver) done a great job and they are building an excellent side. If they get in the playoffs they could do very well.”

Looking ahead, Deacey is hoping to welcome back the influential duo of Alex Davidson and Nicky Boshell from injury shortly:

“We only have about 15 players available, but Alex is about two weeks away and Nicky is a week away which is good news.”
