Deacey: 'A Good Performance'

Following the 2-1 victory against Corby Town, John Deacey spoke to Press Officer Lewis Sale.

The Bradford boss had mixed feelings after the game:

‘I thought the scoreline did not reflect the game, we dominated that game of football and made it look silly at the end because we did not take our chances.’

Also, the Avenue manager saw certain performances to pick out, and his words proved influential during the game on Saturday for one particular player:

‘I thought James Knowles was awesome, and Jamie Price did well when he came on. Again, Tom Corner scored a good goal, he is finding his feet now and Danny (Holland) did what I wanted him to do in that hole. I spoke to Alex (Davidson) before the game, and I said he needs to score more goals, and he did! It was a good performance, it was not as good as Monday evening against Vauxhall Motors, but, it’s three points.’

With plenty of games left, Deacey remains cautiously optimistic of his side’s chances to continue their recent good form:

The win keeps ourselves up there, but, I’m not saying anything. We are classic at going under the radar and people not noticing us! It’s back to Saturday and Mondays now, but, we are capable of getting something out of these games and climb up the table.’
