Davidson Praise For Avenue Squad

Alex Davidson scored a late equaliser against Colwyn Bay to extend Avenue’s unbeaten run to 12 games, and the striker spoke to the official website.

The number nine was disappointed to draw, but highlights how the Avenue continue to look for three points:

“I felt it was two points dropped with the amount of possession we had. We attacked but in the final third we were not as clinical. When we got the second goal, I felt a third would come because our mentality is to win.”

Meanwhile, Davidson praised the spirit amongst the team at the Avenue:

“It transcends in the dressing room. The lads play for each other and the camaraderie is there and you can see that.”

Despite scoring the equaliser, Davidson was not pleased with his individual performance against the Seagulls:

“It was a team goal, Marshall flicked the ball and I put the ball between the legs of the goalkeeper, but I’m disappointed with my own performance.”

Ahead of the FA Cup with Budweiser Fourth Round Qualifying tie against Kidderminster Harriers, Davidson is relishing the challenge to face The Skrill Premier side:

“We want to play good teams and they are only a league above us. It’s never easy coming to the Horsfall (Stadium), but we will look to put 100% effort in and go for the win.”
