Davidson: Nearly is Not Good Enough

Following his introduction as a substitute, Alex Davidson spoke to the club’s official website.

The winger was brought on, after 67 minutes, and was pleased to finally return to action:

‘It’s always good to be back playing because it’s never nice to be on the sidelines and watch, but, obviously I want the lads to do well.’

The substitute reflected on the result, and the willingness to improve within the squad:

‘The boys fought back as they always do. If we got a second, we could’ve kicked on, but, people will think nearly, but nearly is not good enough, we don’t want to be a ‘nearly’ team and the boys know that and we are capable of better too.’

Looking ahead to the trip to Curzon Ashton, the injured players are nearing fitness, including Davidson, and the winger points out to the strength of John Deacey’s side:

‘When we have a full squad, we have competition for places, and cover for every position. It keeps everyone on their toes. The league takes priority, but, in the FA Cup, it’s always nice to have a good cup run.’
