The club would like to confirm that Alex Davidson has agreed to stay at Bradford (Park Avenue) for the 2014/15 season.
Following the recent announcement of Paul Walker’s one-year contract, Davidson has also agreed to remain an Avenue player. The 25 year old, formerly of Guiseley AFC and North Ferriby United, has impressed during his time at the club and has been a key player since their promotion. Also, Davidson is known by many at the Avenue for some memorable individual performances, including his hat-trick in the 4-0 victory at Boston United in the 2012-13 season, and the role he played against Kidderminster Harriers in the cup competitions last season.
Davidson admits that the manager was a major factor in his decision to stay:
“One of the main reasons for me staying is John Deacey. He has good plans for next season and it matches what I’m looking for. This is where I want to be.”
Towards the end of last season, Davidson was sidelined with injury, but is keen to get fit ahead of next season: “I feel like I’ve got a point to prove. I was there for every game but it was difficult to watch from the sidelines. Now, it’s about getting a good pre-season, getting the body right and doing as well as I can.”
His manager John Deacey highlights how important it is to keep Davidson:
“I’m delighted that Alex has agreed to stay at Bradford (Park Avenue). It’s important that we try and keep the nucleus of the squad together for next season.”
