After the 2-1 win against Leamington FC, Bradford (Park Avenue) midfielder Joe Colbeck spoke to the club’s official website:
The recent arrival produced an impressive performance against the Brakes, and is pleased with recent results:
“It’s been a great start and we’ve done really well. If we’d have been offered seven points from a possible nine we would’ve taken that!
Obviously it’s early days but the signs are good and hopefully it’s going to be a successful season.
We did well today. Maybe the weather conditions helped us out with the wind being with us in the first half and then it changed, it was with us again in the second half, but I’m pleased with the win.”
The winger was an unused substitute in the victory against Harrogate Town, but understands it’s a team game:
“Maybe I had a point to prove. The boss decided to go with no wingers and play wing back’s and sometimes that’s just how it goes.
I have to show that I deserve to be playing week in week out, every player wants to be playing. If some weeks I have to sit on the bench I obviously do mind but it’s a squad game.”
How is Colbeck finding life at the Avenue?
“I’m really enjoying it. I get on with all the lads who have been great and made me feel comfortable from the first day.”
