Club Statement: Admission Prices

Following the announcement last week regarding matchday admission prices for the 2017-18 season, the board of Bradford Park Avenue Community Football Club would like to release the following statement:

The board has spent the last few days reviewing the reaction to the decision to introduce a two-tiered matchday pricing structure.

After receiving feedback both from home and away fans, and after much deliberation, the board has taken the decision to revert to a standard admission price across every league match for this season.

The Board however will be closely monitoring the income and expenditure associated with the bigger games where segregation and all-ticket arrangements have to be implemented.

The matchday admission price at Horsfall Stadium for the 2017-18 campaign will be a reduction on last season’s charge, and also the joint-cheapest in the division at £10 for adult entry.

The board feels, as a Community Benefit Society, that it is important to listen to our supporters and act on their views.

It is hoped that, with the reduction on matchday entry to £10 for adults, we can continue to attract new supporters and provide them with a positive experience of the Horsfall Stadium.

Match Arrangements: Bradford City (H)

Bradford Park Avenue would like to advise spectators of special arrangements in place for our home match against Bradford City on Saturday 8 July.

Given the expected heightened following from our opponents, the club has taken the decision to add extra facilities behind the goal at the Park Road end of the ground.

There will be a marquee and a bar at that end, where the club are advising visiting supporters to enter the ground. There will also be a burger van and portable toilets at that end of the ground.

Admission to the match is just £8 for adults, £6 for concessions, £5 for students and just £2 for under-18s.

Due to the Gala taking place in Harold Park on the same day, parking around the ground will be extremely limited and the club are advising that where possible, spectators arrive at the match by public transport.

For those who will be driving, the car park accessible from Park Road will be open, but strictly available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Areas on Cemetery Road will be coned off in order that cars parked do not obstruct any potential need for emergency vehicles, so parking around this area will be extremely limited.

There is parking available on roads around the ground, but there is strictly no parking on Park Road itself.

For details of how to access the car park, and further instructions, please click here to open a PDF map.

Those supporters arriving by public transport should take the 681 bus from Bradford, and then access the ground via the snicket onto Park Road, which is also indicated on the map.

Avenue kick off their home league season against Southport on Monday 7 August, before a mouthwatering tie against York City the following Saturday.

Make sure you don’t miss out by purchasing your 2017-18 league Season Ticket, which will be available to buy in the clubhouse at Saturday’s game.

Adult Season Tickets are this year priced at just £125, and include one FREE under-18 Season Ticket.

Concessions (Over 60) can purchase a Season Ticket for £99, while students, apprentices and under-18s can pick up a 2017-18 league Season Ticket for just £20.

Avenue Lift First Trophy Of The Season

Bradford Park Avenue’s officials were the winners at the club’s annual Golf Day, held at Northcliffe Golf Club last week.

The yearly competition, organised on behalf of the club by Roger Banks, was won by first-team manager Mark Bower, director of football Terry Dolan, secretary Colin Barker and stadium announcer Richard Griffiths.

They triumphed over 12 other teams with a winning score of 93 points on a drizzly Friday afternoon.

The competition was played in a Stableford format with two players scores to count at each hole, and all players contributed to the winning score.

That score was four points better than the second placed team, made up of Northcliffe members Alec Hird, John Anderson, Paul Metcalfe and Stuart Rogers, who were in fact last year’s winners.

Hopefully this was a good omen for the season with a solid performance throughout.

The first half performance of 44 points was improved with a second half performance of 49 points representing a score of 21 under par and no play-off required!!

A huge thank you to Roger for organising another excellent day, Northcliffe for being wonderful hosts, and everyone who played or in any way made the annual Golf Day a success! We will see you next year!

Avenue’s league Season Tickets are still on sale, and it’s your chance to grab a real bargain this year.

Adult Season Tickets are priced at just £125, and include one FREE under-18 Season Ticket.

Concessions (Over 60) can purchase a Season Ticket for £99, while students, apprentices and under-18s can pick up a 2017-18 league Season Ticket for just £20.

Clayton Signs For Gainsborough

Dan Clayton has left Bradford (Park Avenue) to join Gainsborough Trinity.

The left sided player, who has featured both on the wing and at full back at Avenue, moves to his third Vanarama Conference North club of the season.

Clayton moved to the Horsfall in early November and made just four appearances in an injury hit two months at the club.

We would like to place on record our thanks to Dan for all his efforts in his time at the club and wish him all the best for the future.

Lynch On Loan

Bradford (Park Avenue) have bolstered their defensive options with the signing of Southport left-back Johnny Lynch on a month’s loan.

The move for Lynch improves the options on the left hand side of defence, after Barnsley recalled youngster George Smith last week.

The 21 year old signed for Southport in the summer of 2014, having been released by Championship side Wigan Athletic.

He is available to make his debut in the New Year’s Day fixture against Chorley.

There will be a pitch inspection held by the match official at 10:30am on the morning of the match. This decision will be final, as it is being held by the referee in charge of the game.

Supporters and staff have worked hard over the last few days to clear the pitch, and below is a picture tweeted into us by @ChipParade

Stockport Game Rearranged

Out home league match against Stockport County has been rearranged for Wednesday February 18th.

The game, originally scheduled for the 28th of December, was postponed due to a frozen pitch. The rearranged tie will kick off at 7.45pm.

It joins the Gloucester game in being rearranged, that particular tie scheduled to go ahead on Wednesday January 14th, also with a 7.45pm kick off.

Gloucester Game Rearranged

Our home match against Gloucester City has been rearranged for Wednesday 14th January, with a 7.45pm kick off.

The original tie was scheduled for Saturday 20th December, but was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Remember we require volunteers tomorrow to help clear snow from the pitch in preparation for the New Year’s day game against Chorley. Click here for more details.

The club can also announce that the recent shirt competition will be extended until the Gainsborough match on the 7th February, the draw taking place after the game.

Stockport Game OFF

After an inspection just before 10am this morning held by a local referee, today’s game against Stockport County has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

The pitch was covered in snow while the team were in Boxing Day action at Chorley, with little let up since. Even were the snow removed, the pitch underneath is in an unplayable condition.

Details of the rearranged game will be announced in due course.
